David Kula : Advocate for Students, Teachers, Parents and Administrators

Before moving to Asheville, N.C. in 2001, David was a senior equity partner, the president, and co-managing partner of a 30 attorney/70 employee firm in Chicago, Illinois. Over 22 years, he helped build that firm from 4 lawyers into one of the top employment and school law firms in Chicago with a regional and national client base.

David’s experience was focused on education, school, and employment law as a litigator in the state and federal court systems, trial and appellate. He is knowledgeable in every aspect of school/educational law based on his experience as general counsel to over 200 school and community college districts, with primary emphasis on personnel and employment issues (teacher/administrator), student and parent rights, civil rights/Sec.1983/EEOC matters, board-superintendent relations, First Amendment issues, and special education/IDEA matters.

Since moving to Asheville, David has dedicated himself to representing students, parents, teachers and administrators regarding their issues/concerns with their local school district, board of education, and private schools as well. His 22-year background as a school board attorney gives him a unique perspective and skill-set to effectively solve problems caused by school districts or private schools which may violate the rights of their students and employees.
